Taurasi loves Phoenix and Phoenix loves Taurasi. She is one of the most exciting players to watch in the W.
“I am thrilled to re-sign with the Mercury,” said Taurasi. “I enjoy playing in Phoenix and am glad they want me back. I am excited for the upcoming season and ready to defend our title.”
Taurasi is a 3-time WNBA All-Star, 3-time NCAA Champion and an Olympic gold medalist. She also puts up numbers like 19 points per game and leads the league in 3’s with 95!
“Diana is the backbone of our franchise,” said Mercury General Manager Ann Meyers Drysdale. “She is a WNBA, Olympic and NCAA champion and is the consummate team player. We understood the importance of bringing her back and are thrilled that she will remain in Phoenix for another three years.”
Taurasi is currently playing for Spartak in Russia, averaging 19.1 points.
